Wynwood Dream is a photograph from a series of abstract images of the colorful, Miami art district I’ve been shooting for the past few years. This image is one of my favorites, as it demonstrates the technique I’ve developed, whereby I layer reflection of window glass on the subject. My goal is very simple: create a fantasy that draws the viewer inside the image, suspending the analytical mind. In this image, the colorful mural is reflected from behind me, while we’re looking into the window of a jewelry store. I then reverse the image, so the copy appears in proper relief. It translates beautifully to apparel, as you’ll see below.
